Confirmation

Confirmation classes and retreats are taught at Trinity by the Pastors, Vicar, and DCE on Sunday Mornings at 9:15 during the Christian education hour and in Trinity Lutheran School every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, September through May. These are instructional classes are used to nurture and grow the faith and knowledge of the Lutheran faith.

What is confirmation?

Confirmation is preparation for membership at Trinity and into the LCMS. Luther states that Confirmation is a public rite of the church preceded by a period of instruction designed to help baptized Christians identify with the life and the mission of the Christian community.

Confirmation Sunday is the 1st Sunday in May during the 10:30 service.

Orientation Meeting

Trinity’s Confirmation Orientation meeting will be at September 9th at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall in the Church basement. This meeting is for all 8th grade (Public and Trinity) youth and their parents.

7th & 8th grade Public School

Faith Alive Study Bible, Luther’s Small Catechism, Applying Luther’s Catechism (CPH)

6th and 7th grade Trinity School
NIV Bible, Voyages: (New Testament)

5th and 6th grade Trinity School
Bible History Textbook and workbook

Confirmation Retreats

All confirmation retreats are held at Michiana Christian Service Camp in Niles MI. Retreats are $30 per youth per retreat to cover camp costs.

September 25th – 27th
This retreat is for the 7th and 8th grade youth. During this retreat we will focus on team building. The 8th grade will be looking at Discipleship while the 7th grade will be concentrating on Trust/Faith.

January 22nd – 24th
This retreat is for the 7th and 8th grade. They will be split into two different groups. The 8th grade focusing on what God has to tell us about relationships and sex while the 7th grade will be taking a closer look at Baptism and what it means to our relationship with God.

March 12th – 14th
This retreat is for 8th graders. We will focus on the Lord’s Supper and help prepare them for Holy Communion and what it means in our lives and faith.

April 23rd – 25th
This retreat is for all Junior High 6th-8th grade. We offer our services to the camp as we help the camp with various tasks they have in physical service. We focus on the Christian Life and what it means to really serve our Lord during this time.
